OUR HISTORY
Central Community Church of Oklahoma City was founded in July 1976 by faith through the vision of Pastor Willie M. Bates, Sr. What began as a small mission in a rented building grew through prayer, sacrifice, and a strong dependence on God’s guidance. Over the years, the church experienced both challenges and victories—including relocation, rebuilding after a fire, and continued growth in membership and ministry. Through every season, God has faithfully provided, leading Central to remain committed to its foundation of faith, worship, and saving souls for Jesus Christ. Today, under the leadership of Pastor Rodrick D. Hawkins Sr., the church continues to move forward, trusting God to lead us to even greater heights.
Our Mission
Here at Central, our primary focus is saving souls for Jesus Christ. We are firm believers in the Great Commission. Matthew 28:18–20 states, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age."
Our church services are a pleasant blend of traditional and contemporary worship. We allow the Holy Spirit to lead our services. This means that one Sunday we may have a normal service, and the next we may be watching a movie with a life-changing message. Whatever happens, we will always allow the Lord to lead.
Lastly, we believe every word that is written in the Bible from the first page of Genesis to the last word in Revelation.
